5-piece band from Quebec playing traditional Quebecois music and originals. On fiddle, mandolin, tenor banjo, guitars, keyboards and bass, Les Poules a Colin (Colin's Chickens) play a fine combination of slow and fast fiddle tunes and songs, mainly sung in French. Instrumentals are driven by by sound of foot percussion, danced by Colin Savoie-Levac while he plays either mandolin or tenor banjo.. The other 4 are all women, including Colin's sister Marie, on bass, hence the name of the band. Beatrix Methe is on vocals and fiddle, Sarah Marchand is on keyboards and vocals and Elenore Pitre is on guitar and vocals.
Some the music they play originates in the French part of Louisiana.

Two videos are here--the most recent, from October, 2018 is him live, with his recent beard, which shows three fun minutes of his rambling talking stage persona, followed by a new song, with great guitar work of course. The older cut "Eggtooth" shows him about 10 years ago, playing a fine solo piece.
Celebrating the label Windham Hill at holiday time, (Not a Christmas show, but they WILL play "Carol of the Bells!") this show includes rare performances by Will Ackerman, who started the label. Also piano by Liz Story and piano, violin and vocals by Barbara Higbie. In addition, this show has cello player Ellen Sanders and another guitarist, Todd Boston. For some of the show, most of the performers will play together.

In their 50th year, the Tannahill Weavers play mainly traditional music on vocals, fiddle, bagpipes, whistles, flute, and strings. Singer Dede Wyland from the east coast join with our local Sonoran Dogs including Tucson's award-winning guitarist Pete McLaughlin, Nick Coventry on fiddle, Alvin Blaine on dobro, Mark Miracle on mandolin, Tyler James on banjo, and Brian Davies on bass. Dede has won numerous awards from the Washington, DC Music Association, and is considered one of the top vocalists in all of bluegrass music, and definitely one of the top female vocalists. She has performed here recently at the Tucson Folk Festival and for us at another church a few years ago...
Tickets on sale now. --They are general admission in the NEW hall of St. Francis Church which has better acoustics, and is larger than the church's previous hall. Seats just as comfortable as they were in the older church hall! Doors open by 7:30pm.
Ireland's top musical ambassadors in their first concert at the Fox Tucson Theater. The three original members are Paddy Moloney, on Irish pipes and whistles, Kevin Conneff on bodhran (Irish drum) and Matt Malloy on Irish flute. They will be joined by dancers Cara Butler from Riverdance, and more dancers: brothers Jon and Nathan Pilatzke from Ontario. Also fiddler Tara Breen, vocalist Alyth McCormack and a harp player to be announced.
