From French Canada, Le Vent du Nord (Wind of the North) is the most accomplished of the French Canadian bands and one of the few that feature hurdy-gurdy playing along with the full range of instruments, lots of foot percussion, and vocals in French. And, for this, their first performance in Tucson--we have them at the Temple of Music and Art downtown! Two notes: Le Vent's lead fiddler, Andre Brunet, switched over from playing with the band La Bottine Souriante (Smiling Boot) who are no longer touring. Note 2: The first of the two videos has 4 of the 5 members who will be here--without Andre Brunet, and the second of the videos is one of their signature songs, and does add a couple from Quebec on vocals only--it had the best sound quality.
All reserved seating will be $24; $22 seniors and TFTM members. |
